After months of delays, about 1,000 pads made it to Haiti in March.
Haiti often experiences civil unrest, but the end of 2019 into the beginning of 2020 were particularly bad. Violent protests, crime and kidnappings kept Bayo Joachim and other Maryville residents from visiting the country.
But Bayo finally was able to visit this March, arriving during some stability, and departing before Covid-19 shut down travel.
Needless to say, helping those in need is more than a challenge. Bayo, Mike Bellamy and countless volunteers over the years have done miraculous work building House of Hope Haiti and providing hope to hundreds of people in the communities around Williamson, Haiti.
We are humbled to be part of those efforts.
